Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyer

The Chief, Elders and the people of Teacher Kai, a farming community in the Agona East District of the Central Region have expressed their utmost support for the Member of Parliament for the Area, Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokua Sawyer for her immense contribution to the development of the Area.

The Chief, Nana Kai V and his Elders who expressed their support for the MP to Newsghana.com disclosed that Teacher Kai in particular and Agona East in general had not undergone any transformational change in terms of development as it has seen under Maama Pokua Sawyer.

They mentioned the reconstruction of roads by the MP Maame Pokua Sawyer which they said were hitherto unmotorable, the provision streets lights in major parts of the area, the construction of school block up to Junior High School level for the only public school at Teacher Kai which the said has helped solved the problem where Basic School children going to the JHS had to trek kilometers to Agona Nsaba before attending school.

They again mentioned the introduction of Feeding Programme to the school by the effort of the MP as well as the construction of a mini-market center in other parts of area, among other things, describing her as a God-given MP to save the people of Agona East from their plight.

They commended the MP for donating to the needy and widows in the Constituency and also going to the aid of pregnant women after delivery by paying their medical bills and supporting women in business as well as supporting students during their final year examination such as the Basic Education Certificate Examination [BECE] by supplying them with examination materials such as Mathematical Sets to aid them in their examination.

However, the Chiefs and people of Teacher Kai have appealed to the Government through the District Assembly to construct a Teachers Bungalow in the town to help accommodate teachers who had to travel every day to attend classes.

They  describe the situation as worrisome, as some of the teachers had to wait for hours before getting a vehicle to school, thereby affecting teaching hours.

They therefore appealed to the MP to help construct a Durbar ground at Teacher Kai which they assured they have already allocated a parcel of land for the project.

Nana Kai and his Elders later expressed delight for the leadership qualities of the Omanhne of the Agona Nsaba Traditional Area, Nana Bishop Borpiah Afriyie II and his Queen Mother which they said has contributed to the development of Agona Nsabaman.
