FAKE PROPHECIES DESTROYING FAMILIES

The founder of the Glory of the Living Yaweh Min. in Agona Swedru, Apostle George Ofori Mensah has cautioned men of God who classify themselves as prophets and give all manner of prophecies to desist from the practice, as according to him, most of their prophecies turn to disintegrate families, instead of uniting them. According to him, the modern day church is gradually deviating from its core purpose of winning souls for God by preaching against sin, but have rather resorted to preaching about prosperity and pronouncing fake prophecies. Apostle George Ofori Mensah who expressed the concern in an interview with Ghananew247.com attributed the development to lack of employable skill on the part of majority of these self-acclaimed prophets, thereby relying on their own means of making money by giving false prophecies to members of their congregation. He expressed regrets how Christians of today have failed to distinguish between a good prophet and a self-acclaimed one, and have allowed themselves and their families to be torn apart by some acclaimed prophets through false prophecies. Describing them as “economic prophecies, Apostle Ofori Mensah also wondered why these self-acclaimed prophets amass wealth for themselves at the expense of their unsuspecting congregation whiles majority of the congregation continue to wallow in abject poverty.
