Headteacher Advocates For Cut-Off Points For SHS Entrants

The Headteacher of  Swedru Holy Quran Basic School, Mr. Haruna Nuhu Sanni has called on the government to re-consider a cut-off point at Aggregate 36 as the maximum qualification for admission into Senior High School.

According to him, because of the raw admission into Senior High School, most Junior High School final year students refuse to learn, with the hope that they would automatically gain admission to SHS, irrespective of the grades they achieve.

He warned that if the situation is not checked and continues this way, the country would churn out half-baked students who will not fit into any job market.
