The Omanhene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Oseadieyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, has confirmed Nana Ama Agyeiwa Agyekumwaa II as the Queen of Akyem Asene in the Asene Manso Akroso District in the Eastern Region.
The former Queen of Akyem Asene, Nana Afia Kisiwaa, was destooled for disobeying the others of the Kotokumanhene that the Abakomahene of Asene should be the Adontenhene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council.
She registered her displeasure over the Abakomahene appointment as the Kotoku Adonten and the Omanhene of Kotoku destooled her on the grounds that he can’t rule with someone who doesn’t respect his orders.
The Kotokumanhene Oseadieyo, Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, speaking at the Akyem Oda Jaskese, stated that from today on, Nana Ama Agyeiwa Agyekumwaa ii is the new Queen of Akyem Asene, so she urged everyone to support her so that she can succeed.
He called on the Asene chiefs to join hands so that they could work together for Asene to develop.
Oseadieyo Dr. Frimpong Manso said if you are a chief in Kotoku land and you don’t respect him, he can choose not to make you a chief again, and when he said you are not a chief, no matter where you go, you will still not be a Kotoku chief.
According to him, the chiefs sit in Asene, and they do what they like, forgetting that the land they are occupying has an owner.
He said that from today on, he will show them that the land has an owner. He advised them to change their lives and leave a new one.
Nana Ama Agyeiwa Agyekumwaa called on everyone to put everything behind them and help her build Asene again.
According to her, she’s not coming for herself and the Agona family, but rather for the Asene township.
She called on people to help her develop Asene together.
She expressed her appreciation to the Akyem Kotokuhene and the chiefs in Kotoku for choosing her to be Queen of Akyem Asene.
